Morning Market Update: March 25, 2010

U.S. stock futures are trading higher Thursday on better-than-expected jobless claims data. The Labor Department said that jobless claims fell 14,000 last week to a seasonally adjusted 442,000. Economists had expected it would drop to 450,000. In corporate news, lululemon athletica inc. (NASDAQ:LULU) reported fiscal Q4 EPS $0.40, ahead of consensus estimates of $0.29 per share. Revenues rose 54.5% to $160.6 million, topping consensus estimates of $143.5 million. McCormick & Co. (NYSE:MKC) reported fiscal Q1 EPS of $0.51, surpassing consensus estimates of $0.48. Revenues for the quarter rose 6% year-over-year to $764.5 million, topping consensus estimates of $760.7 million. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) futures are trading 42.00 points above fair value, the S&P500 (INX) futures are trading 5.70 points above fair value, and the Nasdaq Composite (IXIC) futures are trading 7.75 points above fair value.
