Today Nextest Systems Corp. (NASDAQ:NEXT) announced it has signed an agreement to be acquired by Teradyne Inc. (NYSE:TER) for an estimated $325 million or $20 a share in cash. The agreed upon price is a premium of about 67% over the company's closing price yesterday. The deal is expected to close in the 1Q of 2008, and Nextest is expected to run as a business unit within one of Teradyne divisions. The company is up an estimated 63% since opening this morning.
