According to a statement from a major dealership chain in Japan, Toyota (NYSE:TM) Prius hybrid orders surged to 110,000 despite one of the worst autosales environments since WWII that has already sent Chrysler to bankruptcy and has General Motors (NYSE:GM) teetering on the edge of Chapter 11. The third-generation Prius was officially rolled out in Japan just two weeks ago, however, dealers are already neck-deep in orders, including 80,000 advanced orders placed weeks prior to its roll out.
