Monday, Verizon (NYSE:VZ) reported a third quarter profit gain of 31 percent with earnings of $1.67 billion, or 59 cents per share, compared to $1.27 billion, or 44 cents per share, a year ago. Their revenue also rose 4.1 percent to $24.7 billion.
