Today, Humana Inc. (NYSE:HUM) reported financial results for its third-quarter ended September 30, 2008. The company reported diluted earnings per common share of $1.09, compared to $1.78 per share in the year-ago period. Consolidated revenues for the third-quarter rose 13% to $7.15 billion, up from $6.32 billion in the same period last year. Humana updated its guidance for FY08, ending December 31, 2008, and is now forecasting its 2008 guidance range midpoint of $3.85 per share, compared to its previously estimated $4.35 for the year. The company also anticipates FY09 EPS to be within a range of $5.90 to $6.10. Shares of Humana Inc. were down 3.12% in morning trading.
