Today, software giant, Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT), stated it is still open to talks about a "major transaction" to acquire the Yahoo Inc's (NASDAQ:YHOO) search business or possibly the entire company. Microsoft however also stated that they will only open negations with a new board of directors, confirming Carl Ichans statement in his recent letter to the Yahoo directors. The statement gives more credit to Ichan's ongoing proxy battle to unseat the Yahoo board and seek a deal with Microsoft.
