3/19/2010-Dow Jones reported Friday that top eBay Inc. (NASDAQ:EBAY) officials had their 2009 pay packages reduced compared with the previous year, as the e-commerce giant slashed stock and option awards, citing a regulatory filing.
Chief Executive John Donahoe saw his compensation reduced to $10.13 million, less than half the $24 million he received in 2008.
Chief Financial Officer Bob Swan received $5.9 million for 2009, down from $13.5 million the previous year.
Of the company's top five officials, only Scott Thompson, president of its PayPal online payments unit, saw his compensation rise in 2009, highlighting the growing importance of that division to eBay's portfolio.
