3/17/2010-Shares of Liberty Media (NASDAQ:LINTA) are trading 2.5% higher to $14.51 Wednesday after Bloomberg reported that the company won't make a bid for movie studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc, citing two sources with knowledge of the matter.
MGM's executives deemed Liberty's assessment of the studio's value to be below what creditors would have found acceptable, the sources told the news service.
Liberty was among five entities considering a second-round bid for MGM.
