11/30/2009 - Abbott Laboratories (NYSE:ABT) and Laboratories Fournier SA granted intellectual property rights for TriCor to Teva Pharmaceutical Laboratories Ltd. (NASDAQ:TEVA), according to an AP report, which cited a SEC filing. Teva has intellectual property rights to 145-milligram Tricor no sooner than March 28, 2011. Abbott announced settlements totaling about $184 million for a federal court case last year involving class action claims over TriCor over allegations that the company sought to block competition for cheaper, generic versions of the drug. Teva had been a plaintiff in the case.
