11/18/2009 - A McDonald's (NYSE:MCD) in downtown Manhattan became the first location in the United States this fall to be redone in a sleek, European style that is similar to how the chain looks around France and the UK, according to an AP report. The location is equipped with outlets for plugging in laptops, upholstered furniture, subdued lighting, and employees that are wearing all-black uniforms. A spokeswoman for the fast-food chain, Danya Proud, said that many locations have been updated over the last few years but the Chelsea location is the first with an "urban redesign."
