11/16/2009 - Pfizer Inc.'s (NYSE:PFE) Prevnar 13 vaccine missed key goals in a study of its effectiveness, according to a Reuters report. The vaccine is designed to protect against 13 forms of a bacterium called streptococcus pneumoniae, which can cause a variety of diseases. The FDA said that for three of the types of bacterium, "the non-inferiority criterion was not met."
