11/4/2009 - Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT) says its cutting over 800 jobs, in addition to the 5,000 layoffs that the company announced in January. A spokesman for the company, Lou Gellos, said that the cuts are being made in offices around the world but did not give specifics on the product groups or job types that would be affected. He added that the 5,000 layoffs in January were the company's first widespread layoffs.
