11/3/2009 - Best Buy (NYSE:BBY) will begin selling and renting digital movies and television shows with an online service based on Sonic Solutions' Roxio CinemaNow, according to a Reuters report. The service will be built in to devices sold at Best Buy Stores like TV sets, computers and mobile phones. The company expects to be able to provide access to a large catalog of films and shows, with many new ones available on the day that they come out on DVD. The service will compete with well-established systems offered by Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN). Best Buy did not disclose the name of the service or detail when it will launch.
