10/30/2009 - AT&T (NYSE:T) will reportedly launch a new Nokia (NYSE:NOK) smartphone using a Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM) chip and running on the Symbian operating system, according to a Fierce Wireless report that cites VentureBeat. No details on the phone or release date were given, but Nokia and Qualcomm said in February that next-generation devices would be heading to the North American market in mid-2010. If accurate, the report shows the strengthening of the relationship between Nokia and AT&T, as the carrier has released several high-profile devices over the past few months and will provide 3G coverage for the Nokia Booklet netbook.
