10/23/2009 - Firefighters are battling a blaze at Chevron's (NYSE:CVX) refinery and tank farm at Bayamon, Puerto Rico after two explosions occurred at the site today, according to a Bloomberg report. There is currently no explanation for the cause of the initial explosions, which occurred at about 12:30 a.m. local time according to a representative of the local Guaynabo police force. At least 11 tanks are on fire, and teams are working hard to prevent the remaining 22 from exploding. Shares of Chevron fell 1% in midday Friday trading.
