7/31/2009 - Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) has told its customers that it will no longer accept orders of Atom Z processors, and is nearing the end of its inventory, according to a DigiTimes report that cites industry sources. The company hopes to clearly define the boundary between products targeting the netbook market and the MID market, and shut off the flow of Atom Zs by the end of 2009. The source noted that Intel will fill orders already placed by Acer, Asustek Computer and Micro-Star International.
