Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) announced to congressional and administration officials in a letter on Tuesday that it is embracing President Obama's call to require large employers to offer health insurance to workers. The letter said, "We are for an employer mandate which is fair and broad in its coverage . . . Any alternative to an employer mandate should not create barriers to hiring entry-level employees." The letter was also signed by Andrew Stern, president of the Service Employees International Union.
