By Nick Russo

Below are the three companies in the Paper Products industry with the lowest projected earnings growth. The growth of earnings per share (current fiscal year estimated vs. last year actual) is important to gauge future profitability and relative value. Higher EPS growth generally justifies higher earnings multiples.

Schweitzer-Maudu ranks lowest with a projected earnings growth of 6.6%. Neenah Paper Inc is next with a projected earnings growth of 6.8%. Domtar Corp ranks third lowest with a projected earnings growth of 21.7%.

Glatfelter follows with a projected earnings growth of 36.0%, and Clearwater rounds out the bottom five with a projected earnings growth of 39.9%.

SmarTrend recommended that its subscribers protect gains by selling shares of Clearwater on February 1st, 2018 by issuing a Downtrend alert when the shares were trading at $46.78. Since that call, shares of Clearwater have fallen 19.3%. We are now looking for when a new Uptrend will commence and will alert SmarTrend subscribers in real time.
