Top 5 Companies in the General Merchandise Stores Industry with the Best Relative Performance (BIG, FRED, TGT, DG, DLTR)

We looked at the General Merchandise Stores industry and measured relative performance to find the top stocks. Relative outperformance is a bullish sign of underlying fundamental and technical strength. We look at yesterday's price action of all companies in this peer group.

Big Lots (NYSE:BIG) ranks first with a gain of 4.03%; Fred's (NASDAQ:FRED) ranks second with a gain of 4.01%; and Target (NYSE:TGT) ranks third with a gain of 1.50%.

Dollar General (NYSE:DG) follows with a gain of 1.47% and Dollar Tree (NASDAQ:DLTR) rounds out the top five with a gain of 1.29%.
