Shares of United Continental Holdings Rank the Highest in Terms of Return on Equity in the Airlines Industry (UAL, ALGT, HA, ALK, LUV)

Below are the three companies in the Airlines industry with the highest return on equity. The ROE is a general indication of the company's efficiency; investors usually look for companies with ROEs that are high and are growing.

United Continental Holdings ranks highest with a ROE of 105.4%. Following is Allegiant Travel with a ROE of 49.7%. Hawaiian Holdings ranks third highest with a ROE of 37.2%.

Alaska Air Group follows with a ROE of 35.0%, and Southwest Airlines rounds out the top five with a ROE of 25.5%.
