Relatively Low Beta Detected in Shares of Progress Software in the Systems Software Industry (PRGS, VMW, CHKP, SYMC, FTNT)

Below are the three companies in the Systems Software industry with the lowest betas. Lower-beta stocks mean minimal volatility and are therefore generally considered to be a less risk and offer more stable returns.

Progress Software ranks lowest with a a beta of 0.7. VMware is next with a a beta of 0.7. Check Point Software Technologies ranks third lowest with a a beta of 0.8.

Symantec follows with a a beta of 1.0, and Fortinet rounds out the bottom five with a a beta of 1.0.
