Post Properties is Among the Companies in the Residential REITs Industry With the Best Relative Performance (PPS, EDR, BRE, AVB, HME)

Below are the top five companies in the Residential REITs industry as measured by relative performance. This analysis was compiled based on yesterday's trading activity as we search for stocks that have the potential to outperform.
Post Properties (NYSE:PPS) ranks first with a gain of 1.45%; Education Realty Trust (NYSE:EDR) ranks second with a gain of 1.41%; and BRE Properties (NYSE:BRE) ranks third with a gain of 0.98%.
AvalonBay Communities (NYSE:AVB) follows with a gain of 0.78% and Home Properties (NYSE:HME) rounds out the top five with a gain of 0.65%.
SmarTrend currently has shares of Education Realty Trust in an Uptrend and issued the Uptrend alert on August 29, 2011 at $8.74. The stock has risen 6.6% since the Uptrend alert was issued.
