Highest Level of Efficiency in the General Merchandise Stores Industry Detected in Shares of Dollar Tree (DLTR, TUES, FRED, BIG, FDO)

Below are the top five most-efficient companies in the General Merchandise Stores industry as ranked by Revenue Per Employee (RPE). Analysts use RPE as a measure to compare the productivity of companies in the same industry.
Dollar Tree (NASDAQ:DLTR) ranks first with an RPE of $0.47M; Tuesday Morning (NASDAQ:TUES) ranks second with an RPE of $0.39M; and Fred's (NASDAQ:FRED) ranks third with an RPE of $0.38M.
Big Lots (NYSE:BIG) follows with an RPE of $0.38M and Family Dollar Stores (NYSE:FDO) rounds out the top five with an RPE of $0.28M.
SmarTrend currently has shares of Fred's in an Downtrend and issued the Downtrend alert on July 28, 2011 at $13.22. The stock has fallen 16.9% since the Downtrend alert was issued.
