AvalonBay Communities is Among the Companies in the Residential REITs Industry With the Lowest P/E Ratio (AVB, ELS, MAA, CPT, ESS)

Below are the three companies in the Residential REITs industry with the lowest price to earnings (P/E) ratios. P/E is an important valuation tool when comparing companies in the same industry. A higher P/E ratio means that investors are paying more for each unit of net income, so the stock is more expensive compared to one with a lower P/E ratio.

AvalonBay Communities ranks lowest with a a P/E ratio of 39.43. Following is Equity Lifestyle Properties with a a P/E ratio of 42.18. Mid-America Apartment Communities ranks third lowest with a a P/E ratio of 46.89.

Camden Property Trust follows with a a P/E ratio of 54.64, and Essex Property Trust rounds out the bottom five with a a P/E ratio of 59.88.
