Visa Bearish Moving Average Crossover Alert (V)

By Amy Schwartz

Visa (NYSE:V) crossed under its 10-day moving average of $77.66 on a volume of 1.1 million shares. This may provide short-term investors a chance for a short position, as such a crossover often suggests lower prices in the near term.

Over the past year, Visa has traded in a range of $60.00 to $81.73 and is now at $77.26, 29% above that low. Over the past week, the 200-day moving average (MA) has gone up 0.2% while the 50-day MA has advanced 0.6%.

SmarTrend recommended that subscribers consider buying shares of Visa on March 29th, 2016 as our proprietary SmarTrend analytics indicated a new Uptrend was in progress when shares hit $74.75. Since that recommendation, shares of Visa have risen 4.1%. We continue to monitor V for any potential shift so investors can protect gains and will alert SmarTrend subscribers immediately.
