DaVita Bearish Moving Average Crossover Alert (DVA)

By David Diaz

DaVita (NYSE:DVA) crossed under its 10-day moving average of $64.29 on a volume of 155K shares. Swing traders may find an opportunity for a short position, as such a crossover often suggests lower prices in the near term.

DaVita share prices have moved between a 52-week high of $84.40 and a 52-week low of $61.36 and are now trading 4% above that low price at $63.77 per share. Over the past week, the 200-day moving average (MA) has gone down 0.2% while the 50-day MA has advanced 1.1%.

SmarTrend recommended that its subscribers protect gains by selling shares of DaVita on June 14th, 2016 by issuing a Downtrend alert when the shares were trading at $75.31. Since that call, shares of DaVita have fallen 14.4%. We are now looking for when a new Uptrend will commence and will alert SmarTrend subscribers in real time.
