Last updated March 8, 2010: 12:15 PM ET --- The major U.S. equity indices are trading mixed Monday despite a new round of M&A activity helping to raise hopes for the economy. In corporate news, McDonald's (NYSE:MCD) shares are up 3% after the company said that same-store sales rose 4.8% in February on strong overseas growth. AIG (NYSE:AIG) shares are up 4% after the company announced its second divestiture of the month. The company said it is selling its Alico division to MetLife for $15.5 billion. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) is trading 0.09% lower at 10,556.30, the S&P500 (INX) is trading 0.03% lower at 1,138.50, and the Nasdaq Composite (IXIC) is trading 0.20% higher at 2,330.87.
