Last updated January 26th, 2009 6:50 AM ET---Today, U.S. stock futures are trading slightly lower versus fair value as investors prepare for the week's earnings results. While 137 members of the S&P 500 will be reporting this week, companies of note reporting today include American Express (NYSE:AXP), Caterpillar (NYSE:CAT), McDonald's (NYSE:MCD), Halliburton (NYSE:HAL), Amgen (NASDAQ:AMGN) and Texas Instruments (NYSE:TXN). Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) is expected to announce its acquisition of rival Wyeth (NYSE:WYE) in a deal worth approximately $68 billion in cash and stock. After getting the Dutch government to absorb more than 80% of its losses, ING (NYSE:ING) said it could cut 7,000 jobs. At the time of this report, S&P futures are down 2.05 versus fair value, Nasdaq futures are down 5.69 versus fair value and Dow futures are down 19.56 versus fair value.
