Recall or Not, Toyota's (NYSE:TM) Prius Reigns Supreme in Japan

Despite recall woes that have plagued the world's largest automaker recently, Toyota's (NYSE:TM) Prius remained the top-selling vehicle in Japan in February.

Over 27,000 of the hybrid vehicles were sold during the month of February, ranking the Prius as the best selling model for the 10th consecutive month.

Prius sales have been boosted due to its reputation for offering exemplary mileage by switching between gasoline and electric powering as well as various tax breaks.

Furthermore, not only is the Prius still Japan's best seller, but the model's demand is so high there is a large backlog of orders with a waiting list of almost six months.
